January 21, 2009 - Vision Systems GmbH announces the release of
the new line multiserial PCI Express cards. The
E-line
PCI Express cards add serial ports
to PC systems, as it is required in many applications.
In the past the ports were provided on classic PCI bus cards.
PCI Express is the modern variant, because it offers faster
data transfer and smaller connectors, resulting in better designs
of mainboards. So modern systems won't have classic PCI slots, now
customers can select their products for PCI Express also.
Serial ports are used for many purposes to connect devices
to a computer. Label printers, bar code scanners,
temperature sensors, fax modems are only some examples.
Available are cards with 2, 4 and 8 ports RS232. Besides the
E-Line, Vision Systems also offers the
industrial line with 2 ports RS232/422/485. Here you can
choose between the normal and the optical isolated version
which offers even RS232 isolation and additional surge
protection.
The 128 Byte long FIFO of the 16C950 type UARTs make the
E-line cards the best choice for high performance
data transmission with low system load. The load is further
reduced by using the flow control hardware on the
UART chip.
