The Q7-VIA NANO-CB carrier board serves for hardware development and software compatibility test purposes. It has the practical Mini-ITX form factor (170×170 mm²) and connects to the Q7 module over the 230pin MXM connector.
While the Q7 CPU module functions as the PC core, the carrier board has to put all non legacy high speed interfaces of a Q7 CPU on standard PC connectors and possibly to generate also the older legacy interface standards for complete OS compatibility tests.
Mass storage can be connected over one SATA and/or two PATA IDE connectors. Graphic Displays can choose DVI, 24-Bit LVDS channel or CRT. USB 2.0, Audio, Gigabit LAN belong to standard interfaces. For compatibility purposes the carrier board also offers LPT, RS232 and Keyboard/Mouse as legacy interfaces.
To help implementing versatile applications the carrier board optionally supports a dual WLAN & Bluetooth module connected over a PCIe lane and additionally has one 34/54 Express card slot.
The carrier board has been tested with Windows XP SP3, using Q7-VIA NANO as CPU module.
