Vision Systems announced 4-ports wireless serial device server!

All new wireless + cable model of serial to ethernet device server - VS NetCom 423 WLAN

October 19, 2005 - VS NetCom 423 WLAN is an industrial-strength network-based serial device server for connecting one RS232/422/485 device like CNC, PLC, weighting scale, scanner and other devices directly to a network running TCP/IP. This network may be based on 10/100Mbps Ethernet or Wireless LAN as of IEEE 802.11b/g.
In addition to allowing serial devices to get networked, any host (PC Server or Workstation) without network access can also access remote serial device via adding NetCom devices to the existing serial port. NetCom 423 WLAN can be configured over Driver Panels, WEB Browser, serial Port, Telnet, SNMP and serves as a transparent serial channel without platform and distance limitation.

Additionaly to the standard TCP raw and UDP modes, Netcom serial device server come with Com drivers supporting Windows (NT/4.0, 2000, XP, 2003) and Linux (Fixed TTY) operating systems. After installation of the driver for a Win-OS Netcom device appears in the device manager as a VScom virtual Com. Driver panels allow the user to easy configure all parameters of the communication port (COM) as for traditional local COM ports. Netcom drivers establish a transparent connection between host computer and serial device located anywhere on TCP/IP net. Existing software applications can be directly used to access the serial device as it would be connected to a local COM port.
